Talkin Tarn Event

Saturday 30 October 2021 and Saturday 23 October 2022

Hi everyone. From the feedback received both eventa were very successful. We had three 'GOTO' telescopes set up at the Tarn

David gave a Powerpoint presentation at the beginning in the Education centre about what was up there tonight and after about 20 minutes everyone went outside to the telescopes. Many thanks are due to our members present who spent several hours describing and showing visitors what they could see and answering their many questions.

After an hour or so viewing several of the party adjourned to the education centre for hot drinks and biscuits accompanied by a presentation of what we do at Border Astronomical Society.

On the Tuesday following the 2022 meeting there was to be a partial solar eclipse visible so Graham provided his table presentation of the American Total Solar Eclipse in August '17 and the Total Lunar Eclipse in July '18 taken from the Island of Rhodes. He also demonstrated with models how an eclipse occurs.

We then returned to continue viewing the sky.
