He came to Carlisle and visited
our observatory many years ago when we guested the BAA out of town meeting.
I took him to Newcastle for his train home in my campervan and he asked
me to take him along the military road and visit Housteads Roman fort.
As we walked from the car park to the museum a lot of young visitors were
coming the other way. It was great to see the expressions on their faces
as they recognised him. He was regularly on children's TV at the time.
