Scarborough Starfest 2006
The weather for this year's event was much kinder than usual and we had some good observing on the Friday and Sunday evenings. unfortunately it poured down on the saturday evening and no viewing was possible, but we had a good time in the campervan. As in previous years we took the school's portable 6" refractor along with us and David Pettitt took his own Celestron C9.25 SCT telescope.
The number of people at this event just keeps growing, private individuals, families and astronomical groups from all over the country. Every body had a great time, swapping information and looking through each others telescopes. Several illustrated talks were given in the big tent. There was a water rocket competition for the younger element as usual and Alex came second this year. Here are a selection of photos taken at the event.
